ელისაბედ II-ის დაბადების დღის აღსანიშნავ საზეიმო მიღებაზე, რაც ძალიან საამაყო ფაქტი და უპრეცედენტო შემთხვევაა. როგორც ჩვენი ასოციაციის, ისე ზოგადად ჩვენი ქალაქების და ქვეყნების მეგობრობის ისტორიაში.

დიდი ბრიტანეთის საელჩოს მხარდაჭერა ყოველთვის თან სდევდა ასოციაციის საქმიანობას, მაგრამ გვსურს განსაკუთრებული მადლობა გამოვხატოთ დიდი ბრიტანეთის ელჩის - ალექსანდრა ჰოლ ჰოლის მიმართ, რომელმაც სწორად შეაფასა ასოციაციის როლი დიდი ბრიტანეთისა და საქართველოს ურთიერთობის კუთხით და ყველაფერი გააკეთა იმისათვის, რომ ეს იუბილე გამორჩეული და დაუვიწყარი ყოფილიყო არა მხოლოდ ამ ორივე ასოციაციის ყოველი წევრისათვის, არამედ მთელი ქვეყნისთვის. საიუბილეო თარიღის აღსანიშნავად ნიუპორტიდან მოწვეული იყო წარმომადგენლობითი დელეგაცია.

განსაკუთრებით აღსანიშნავია, რომ სპეციალურად ამ ღონისძიებისთვის თბილისში სამდღიანი ვიზიტით იმყოფებოდა უელსის პარლამენტის თავმჯდომარე- დამა როზმარი ბატლერი, რომელიც გახლდათ ნიუპორტი ქუთაისის ასოციაციის პირველი თავჯდომარე. სწორედ, მან პროფესორ მადონა მეგრელიშვილთან ერთად საფუძველი ჩაუყარა ამ მრავლწლიან მეგობრობას. საზეიმო მიღებაზე ნიუპორტის დელეგაციასთან ერთად მიწვეული იყო დელეგაცია ქუთაისიდან ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის საერთაშორისო ასოციაციის თავმჯდომარის ქ-ნ მადონა მეგრელიშვილის ხელმძღვანელობით მხარისა და ქალაქის ადმინისტრაციასთან ერთად.

დიდი ბრიტანეთის ინიციატივით საიუბილეო შეხვედრაზე მიწვეული იყვნენ მომოღერალთა გუნდები როგორც ქუთაისიდან, ისე ნიუპორტიდან. მათ მიერ შესრულებულმა სიმღერებმა საოცრად გაალამაზა მთელი საღამო. ძალიან ამაღელვებელი იყო, როცა საელჩო მისულ სტუმრებს ანსამბლ ,,ქუთაისის" სიმღერების ფონზე ეგებებოდა. ასევე შთამბეჭდავი იყო ბრიტანელი მომღერლების მიერ შესრულებული „ციცინათელა" ქართულ გუნდთან ერთად.

საღამოს კულმინაცია გახლდათ სპეციალურად ასოციაციათა იუბილისადმი მიძღვნილი უელსური სიმბოლიკით მორთული დაბადების დღის ტორტი.საელჩოს მიღებას უამრავი საპატიო სტუმარი ესწრებოდა, რომელთაც ბრიტანელთა ეროვნულ დღესასწაულთან ერთად გაიზიარეს ქუთაისისა და ნიუპორტის 25 წლიანი მეგობრობის საიუბილეო განწყობა.

ეს იყო განსაკუთრებული იუბილე, გამორჩეული მასპინძლობითა და საოცარი სითბოთი გამსჭვალული. ეს იყო მეგობრების შეხვედრა იმ ადგილას, სადაც კიდევ უფრო მყარდება წლების წინ გადებული მეგობრობის ხიდი.

გვსურს გულითადი მადლიერება გამოვხატოთ დიდი ბრიტანეთის ელჩის საქართველოში ალექსანდრა ჰოლ ჰოლის მიმართ ამ არაჩვეულებრივი დღისათვის, რაც კიდევ უფრო მეტ პასუხისმგებლობას აკისრებს ჩვენი ასოციაციების მომავალ საქმიანობას.

The friendship between Kutaisi and Newport counts a quarter of a century. During this period, we have celebrated numerous events dedicated to this active and fruitful cooperation, but this year, the Kutaisi Newport Twinning celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special honour. The Association members from both cities were hosted by the British Embassy in Georgia, at the official birthday of Her Majesty the Queen, which was a significant and unprecedented occasion in the history of our associations as well as in the history of any friendship between cities and countries.

The British Embassy has always supported the activity of the Kutaisi association but we would like to express our particular gratitude to the Ambassador, Her Excellency Alexandra Hall Hall, who gave a correct estimation of the role of the association in the relations between Wales and Georgia and did her best to make this jubilee distinguished and unforgettable not only for every member of both associations, but for the whole country.

A representative delegation from Newport was invited to celebrate the jubilee. It is particularly remarkable that the Presiding Officer of the Welsh Assembly Dame Rosemary Butler, who was the first Chairperson of the Newport Kutaisi Twinning Association, came to Tbilisi for a three-day visit to be present at the celebration. Together with Professor Madonna Megrelishvili, she established this long-lasting friendship. Apart from the delegation from Newport, the Embassy also hosted the delegation from Kutaisi led by the Chairperson of the Kutaisi Newport International Association, Madonna Megrelishvili as well as the city and regional administration.

On the initiative of the British Embassy, male choirs from Kutaisi and Newport also were invited to the ceremony. Their beautiful songs gave the whole event more solemnity. The most exciting moment was when the Embassy met its guests to the accompaniment of the songs by the "Kutaisi" choir in the background. Another impressive act was the Georgian song "Tsitsinatela" performed by the Welsh choir together with the Georgian one. The culmination of the event was a birthday cake made specially for the 25th anniversary of the Twinning with the Welsh symbols on it. The reception was attended by a lot of honorary guests who celebrated together the British national holiday and the 25th anniversary of friendship between Kutaisi and Newport.

It was a special jubilee, distinctive for its hospitality and penetrated with amazing warmth. It was a meeting place for friends, the place where the bridge of friendship, established years ago has become noticeably stronger.

We would like to express our warmest thanks to the British Ambassador in Georgia Her Excellency Alexandra Hall Hall for the fascinating day, which requires even more responsibility from the future activity of the Associations.

She was invested with her damehood by Prince Charles at a ceremony at the palace. Dame Rosemary, who is Newport West AM and presiding officer of the Assembly, was awarded the honour for political and public services to women and democracy.

შეხვედრა ძალიან თბილ და მეგობრულ გარემოში წარიმართა. როგორც ქ-ნმა სონია ფიშერმა აღნიშნა, ასოციაციების წარმატებას ორმა ადამიანმა ჩაუყარა საფუძველი. ესენი არიან ნიუპორტი ქუთაისის ასოციაციის პირველი თავმჯდომარე, ამჟამად უელსის პარლამენტის თავმჯდომარე დამა როზმარი ბატლერი და ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის საერთაშორისო ასოციაციის თავმჯდომარე, პროფესორი მადონა მეგრელიშვილი. ბ-მა დერეკ ბატლერმა კი დაამატა, რომ მათი ძალისხმევით დაწყებულ საქმეს რუდუნებით მოეკიდა ასოციაციის თითეული წევრი ორივე ქალაქიდან და სწორედ მათი დამსახურებით გაგრძელდა მეგობრობა ორ ქალაქს შორის 25 წლის მანძილზე, რომელიც ერთი შეხედვით დაუჯერებლადაც კი ჟღერს, რადგან ამდენ ხანს მეგობრობას ზოგჯერ ერთ ქალაქში მცხოვრები ორი ადამიანიც კი ვერ ინარჩუნებს, არა თუ კილომეტრებით დაშორებული ორი განსხვავებული კულტურის მქონე ქალაქი.

შეხვედრამ თბილ და მეგობრულ გარემოში ჩაიარა. სტუმრები აღფრთოვანებული დარჩნენ ბ-ნი ზაზას დამოკიდებულებით ასოციაციების მუშაობის მიმართ, რომელმაც კიდევ ერთხელ აღიარა, რომ ბრიტანეთის საელჩოს მიერ მეგობრობის აღნიშვნის 25 წლისთავი ნამდვილად დიდი გამარჯვებაა, რომელსაც გაფრთხილება და შემდგომი ხელშეწყობა ჭირდება. მან თავის მხრივ, გუბერნატორის აპარატის სახელით ასოციაციების მომავალ მუშაობას სრული მზაობა და მხარდაჭერა აღუთქვა და მადლობა გადაუხადა ორივე ასოციაციას გაწეული მუშაობისათვის. შეხვედრის ბოლოს სტუმრებმა და მასპინძლებმა ერთმანეთს სამახსოვრო საჩუქრები გადასცეს.

After the celebration at the Embassy Newport delegation arrived in Kutaisi on 11 June. The meeting with the Governor of the Imereti region, Zaza Meparishvili was the first in their short but fruitful programme. It was attended by the Chair of Newport Kutaisi Twinning Association Sonia Fisher, the Deputy Chair of the Newport Kutaisi Twinning Association, Honorary Citizen of Kutaisi Derek Butler, Honorary Professor of Akaki Tsereteli State University Caroline McLachlan, Deputy Chair of the Newport city council Gail Giles, the NKTA membership secretary Sylvia Mason, the NKTA treasurer - Colin Mason and the NKTA member Nerys Lines. They were met by the Governor Zaza Meparishvili, Vice-Governor Salome Iobidze, Acting Mayor Nodar Mikiashvili and the Head of the Department of International Relations David Megrelishvili.

The meeting was very warm and friendly. Ms. Sonia Fisher once again noted that all tributes for the success of the associations first of all go to two people who founded this twinning -the first Chair of the Newport Kutaisi Twinning Association Dame Rosemary Butler, now Presiding Officer of the Welsh Assembly and the Chair of the Kutaisi Newport International Association Professor Madonna Megrelishvili. Everybody agreed with this opinion of course. Derek Butler thanked each member of both associations for their commitment and dedication to the twinning and added that these are people who have made it possible to maintain the friendship between two cities for 25 years that may seem unbelievable. Very often even people living in the same community, town, or country lose friendly links over such a long period of time not to say about those living far away from each other and having absolutely different cultures.

The meeting in the Governor’s office was very enjoyable. The guests were delighted with the approach which the Governor expressed towards the twinning and the importance of the activities carried out by the associations. He highly appreciated and once again admitted that the celebration of the 25-year friendship between Kutaisi and Newport by the British Embassy in Georgia is a great achievment that needs further care and support. On behalf of the Governor’s office, Zaza Meparishvili expressed his absolute readiness and support for the further collaboration of two associations. At the end of the meeting the Governor and the guests exchanged presents.

სკოლის დირექტორმა ასოცირებულმა პროფესორმა მანანა ქარქაშაძემ სკოლისა და კოლეგების სახელით, დიდი სიყვარულითა და პატივისცემით მიულოცა მათ საიუბილეო თარიღი და უსურვა წარმატებები, საინტერესო და ნაყოფიერი თანამნშრომლობა.

სტუმრებმა დაათვალიერეს ინსტიტუტისა და სკოლის შენობა. გაეცნენ ორგანიზაციების მიერ განხორციელებულ აქტივობებს, ღონისძიებებსა და სამომავლო გეგმებს, დაათვალიერეს სკოლის საგაკვეთილო პროცესში გამოყენებული თვალსაჩინოებები. ნიუპორტელმა მეგობრებმა, მასპინძლების ინტერესების გათვალისწინებით კონსულტაციებზე მზადყოფნა გამოთქვეს. ქალბატონმა ქეროლაინ მაქლაჰენმა და ბატონმა დერეკ ბატლერმა კმაყოფილება გამოთქვეს იმ სიახლეების გამო, რაც მათ სკოლაში დახვდათ. ამ ორგანიზაციასთან ურთიერთობა მხოლოდ სამ წელს ითვლის და იმედი გვაქვს აუცილებლად გაგრძელდება, საინტერესო და პროდუქტიული იქნება.

საპატიო სტუმრებმა სკოლის კოლექტივთან ერთად თბილი და საინტერესო საღამო გაატარეს. იმედი გვაქვს, ეს მეგობრული ვიზიტი საგანმანათლებლო და საქმიანი ურთიერთობის დასაბამი იქნება.

On behalf of her colleagues Associate Professor Manana Karkashadze congratulated both associations on the 25th anniversary of friendship and wished them future success in interesting and fruitful co-operation.

The guests had a look around the building of the school that was founded on the basis of the Teacher Training Institute. They became acquainted with the activities and projects which have been implemented and saw different visual aids used at the lessons. Then our Newport friends shared their experiences and opinions with the hosts and expressed their readiness to give consultations to the teachers. Caroline McLachlan and Derek Butler were very pleased with the innovations they observed in the school.

The school has only been involved in the activities of the associations for three years, but we do hope that their participation in the Twinning will continue in the future and will be interesting and productive.

Our honorary quests had a very warm and interesting time with the school personnel. We do hope that this friendly meeting is a good start for the future educational and business co-operation.

ჩვენი სტუმრები ტრადიციულად ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის საერთაშორისო ასოციაციის ოფისსაც ესტუმრნენ. მათ ძალიან გულთბილი დახვედრა მოუწყვეს ასოციაციის თავმჯდომარემ ქალბატონმა მადონა მეგრელიშვილმა და ასოციაციის სხვა წევრებმა, რომელთა შორის იყვნენ კლინიკა L&J-ის და კლინიკა ბომონდის მთავარი ექიმები ზაზა ლომინაძე და მამუკა მიქაძე. ასევე შეხვედრას ესწრებოდნენ წარმომადგენლები ქუთაისის სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტიდან, მერიიდან და ტელეკომპანია რიონიდან.

შეხვედრა ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის საერთაშორისო ასოციაციის თავმჯდომარემ პროფესორმა მადონა მეგრელიშვილმა ძალიან თბილი და სიყვარულით გაჯერებული სიტყვებით გახსნა. შემდეგ ასევე მეგობრული გამოსვლა ჰქონდათ ასოციაციის თავმჯდომარის მოადგილეს ნინო ნიჟარაძეს და ასოციაციის პასუხისმგებელ მდივანს  მაია ალავიძეს. სიტყვით ასოციაციის სხვა წევრებიც გამოვიდნენ. სტუმრები ემოციებს ვერ მალავდნენ და არ იშურებდნენ სითბოსა და სიყვარულს მათი ქართველი მეგობრების მიმართ. ძალზე ხალისიანად გაიხსენეს მრავალი  ამბავი , რაც კი ამ 25 წლის მანძილზე თავს გადახდენიათ ბრიტანელ და ქართველ მეგობრებს.

შეხვედრაზე საფუძველი ჩაეყარა ქუთაისელ და ბრიტანელ ჟურნალისტთა გაცვლის პროექტს. ტელეკომპანია რიონის ჟურნალისტმა ნანა რობაქიძემ სტუმრებს გააცნო მათი ტელევიზიის მუშაობის შესახებ და მისი თანამშრომლების სახელით ბრიტანელ ჟურნალისტებთან თანამშრომლობის დიდი სურვილი გამოთქვა. სტუმრებიც დიდად  დაინტერესდნენ ზემოხსენებული შემოთავაზებით და დახმარება და თანამშრომლობა აღუთქვეს ტელეკომპანია რიონს.

შეხვედრის ბოლოს ასოციაციამ სამახსოვრო საჩუქრები გადასცა სტუმრებს, რომლებმაც აღფრთოვანება  ვერ დამალეს და გულითადი მადლობა გადაუხადეს ქუთაისელ მეგობრებს ასეთი გულწრფელი მასპინძლობისათვის. დამშვიდობებისას ტრადიციულად გადაიღეს ფოტო, რომელიც სამუდამოდ დარჩება ამ მეგობრობის ისტორიას.

In the afternoon the delegation members visited the office of the Kutaisi Newport International Association. They were warmly welcomed by the Chair of the Association, Professor Madonna Megrelishvili and other members of the Association among whom were the Heads of the Clinics L&J and Beau Monde, Zaza lominadze and Mamuka Mikadze, and also representatives of Akaki Tsereteli State University, The City Hall and TV Rioni.

Professor Madonna Megrelishvili was the first to greet the guests with her speech full of warmth and love towards them. Then Deputy Chair of the KNIA Nino Nijaradze and the Membership Secretary Maia Alavidze also spoke about the friendship between two cities. Our guests couldn’t conceal their emotions and shared all their warmth and love with their Georgian friends. We together remembered some events and stories which had taken place during these 25 years of friendship and had a lot of fun.

It should be mentioned that a possible journalists exchange project was also discussed during this meeting. One of the representatives of the TV Rioni, Nana Robakidze informed the guests about the work of this television company and on behalf of her colleagues expressed a great desire to cooperate with British television. The Newport guests got also interested in this suggestion and promised their support to it.

At the end of the meeting the guests received memorable presents from the Kutaisi Association. They expressed their excitement following this warm meeting with a lot of thanks. Saying good-bye they took some memorable photos that will always remain as the history of our friendship.

შემდეგ სტუმრები ჰუმანიტარულ მეცნიერებათა ფაკულტეტის დეკანს პროფ. ირმა ყიფიანს შეხვდნენ და დიდი მადლობა გადაუხადეს უნივერსიტეტებს შორის არსებული წარმატებული თანამშრომლობის მხარდაჭერისათვის.

შემდეგ კი გაიმართა სტუდენტებთან შეხვედრა უნივერსიტეტის სააქტო დარბაზში. დიდი იყო დაინტერესება სტუდენტების მხრიდანაც. შეხვედრის დასაწყისში ინგლისური ფილოლოგიის დეპარტამენტის ხელმძღვანელმა, ქუთაისი-ნიუპორტის ასოციაციის თავმჯდომარემ პროფესორმა მადონა მეგრელიშვილმა სტუდენტებს სტუმრები წარუდგინა. მათ ისაუბრეს ქუთაისსა დანიუპორტს შორის არსებული 25 წლიანი ურთიერთობის შედეგებსა დაწარმატებებზე. სტუმრების თქმით, 25 წლის წინ ვერავინ წარმოიდგენდა, რომ ორი ქალაქის დამეგობრება ასეთი წარმატებული იქნებოდა. შეხვედრა მეგობრულ გარემოში მიმდინარეობდა და სტუდენტებს საშუალება მიეცათ მათთვის საინტერესო კითხვები თამამად დაესვათ. სტუდენტების შეკითხვები განათლებას, პოლიტიკას, ლიტერატურას, სტუდენტთა გაცვლის პროგრამებსა და ორ ქალაქს შორის მომავალი ურთიერთობის პერსპექტივებს შეეხებოდა. მათ ყველა შეკითხვაზე ვრცელი და ამომწურავი პასუხი მიიღეს.

ნიუპორტელი სტუმრებისთვის მოულოდნელი აღმოჩნდა ის ფაქტი, რომ მცირე ასაკის მიუხედავად აწსუ-ს სტუდენტებს მრავალი რამ სმენოდათ ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის ასოციაციის შესახებ; დამსწრე სტუდენტთა უმრავლესობა 25 წლის წინ, ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის ასოციაციის დაარსების დროს ჯერ კიდევ დაბადებული არ იყო. სტუდენტებმა ქალაქებს შორის არსებული დამეგობრების შესახებ ასეთი ღრმა ცოდნა ნიუპორტელი სტუმრების ხშირი სტუმრობით, ტელევიზიით მათი ვიზიტების მუდმივი გაშუქებით და ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის საერთაშორისო ასოციაციის ელექტრონული ჟურნალის ,,კოლხთა ქვეყანა“ არსებობით ახსნეს.

III კურსელმა სტუდენტმა ლანა მელაძემ, რომელმაც დერეკ ბატლერის გატაცების შესახებ იცოდა (დერეკი ჩაის თუნუქის ქილების კოლექციას აგროვებს), მას ქართული ჩაის ,,გურიელი“ თუნუქის ქილა უსახსოვრა. შეხვედრის დასასრულს სტუმრების საპატივცემულოდ შექსპირის ეპოქის კაბებში გამოწყობილმა სტუდენტებმა შექსპირის სონეტები წაიკითხეს. სტუმრების შეფასებით, სტუდენტებმა სონეტები არამარტო ლამაზი ინგლისურით, არამედ დიდი ემოციითაც წაიკითხეს. თბილი შეხვედრით როგორც სტუმრები, ასევე სტუდენტებიც კმაყოფილი დარჩნენ. ეს შეხვედრა ქუთაისსა და ნიუპორტს შორის არსებული მეგობრობის სამომავლოდ გაგრძელების კიდევ ერთი გარანტია იყო.
 

On June, 13, the guests visited Akaki Tsereteli State University. First they were invited to the Rector of the university, Prof. George Gavtadze. The aim of the meeting was to discuss signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding between ATSU and the University of South Wales and the development of future relations between these universities. They invited Prof. George Gavtadze to Newport in order to discuss the Memorandum with the authorities of the University of South Wales. Our city is proud of the fact that the University of Newport was the first to sign the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding with Kutaisi State University 25 years ago.

After the meeting in the Rector’s office the guests had a talk with the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Professor Irma Kipiani, and used this opportunity to thank her for the support of the successful relations between the Universities.

Then the guests met the students in the Assembly Hall of the University. The Head of the English Philology Department and the Chair of the Kutaisi Newport International Association, Professor Madonna Megrelishvili introduced them to the students and then the guests spoke about the accomplishments of the 25-year-old relationship between the two cities. They stressed the fact that 25 years ago nobody would have thought that that this relationship would develop so successfully.

The atmosphere of the meeting was very friendly and the students were happy to have a chance to ask the guests a lot of questions they were interested in. Their questions mainly concerned education, politics, literature, exchange programmes and future perspectives of the Twinning. The answers to all questions were exhaustive and interesting.

The guests were really surprised at the fact that despite the students’ young age, they knew a lot about the relationship between the two cities. Most of the students attending the meeting weren’t even yet born at the time when the Twinning began. However, young people in Kutaisi are well aware of the Twinning links thanks to Newport Street in the centre of the city, a wide coverage of all exchange visits in local television and newspapers, online newsletter of the Association and the journal “The Land of the Colchi”.

A third year student Lana Meladze, who knew about Derek Butler’s hobby of collecting tins, gave him a tin of the Georgian tea “Gurieli” which he liked very much.

At the end of the meeting, the students dressed in Shakespearean period costumes recited some great writer’s sonnets. The guests enjoyed listening to them and then praised the students for their perfect English and artistic reciting.

Both the guests and the students were happy and excited feeling that this meeting was another guarantee that the friendship between Kutaisi and Newport will successfully continue in future.

უნივერსიტეტში სტუმრობის შემდეგ სტუმრები მიიწვიეს თოჯინების თეატრში, სადაც მათ დიდად ისიამოვნეს ახალი წარმოდგენით და შემდეგ ენთუზიაზმით აღსავსე მსახიობებიც გაიცვნეს, რომლებიც წარმატებით აღწევენ მიზანს რომ მხიარულება და ბედნიერება მოუტანონ ქუთაისელ პატარებს და ცხოვრება გაუხალისონ მათ.

After the meeting with students in the University, the guests were invited to the Puppet Theatre where they enjoyed watching a new performance and then became acquainted with the enthusiastic actors of this children’s theatre who successfully fulfill their aim to bring joy and happiness to the life of young Kutaisians.

საღამოს მასპინძლობდნენ როგორც ასოციაციის წევრები, ისე რეგიონისა და ქალაქის მთავრობის წარმომადგენლები – იმერეთის მხარის გუბერნატორი ბატონი ზაზა მეფარიშვილი და ქალაქ ქუთაისის მერი ბატონი შოთა მურღულია. ასევე აკაკი წერეთლის სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტის ხელმძღვანელობა – აწსუს რექტორი ბატონი გიორგი ღავთაძე და ქართულ ტრადიციულ სამოსში გამოწყობილი აწსუს პრორექტორი, ბატონი შალვა კირთაძე, რომელმაც ღირსეული თამადობა გაუწია ქართულ სუფრას.

განსაკუთრებული ხიბლი ამ ღონისძიებას ქუთაისის ხალხური სიმღერების გუნდის ,,ქუთაისი” –წარმომადგენლებმა და მათმა ლოტბარმა ირინა ლომინაძემ შესძინეს. მათ აღფრთოვანებაში მოიყვანეს ჩვენი სტუმრები თავიანთი დახვეწილი მრავალხმიანობითა და ნიჭიერებით. მთელი მონდომებითა და ემოციით ასრულებდნენ ქართულ ფოლკლორულ სიმღერებს და სხვა გზას არ უტოვებდნენ მსმენელს აჟროჟოლებულებს არ დაეკრათ ტაში მათი უბადლო შესრულებისთვის. სწორედ ამ გუნდმა ასახელა ჩვენი ქალაქი თბილისის საელჩოში დიდი ბრიტანეთის დედოფლის იუბილეზე მიძღვნილ საღამოზე. მათი შთამბეჭდავი ხმები ფონად გასდევდა საელჩოში გამართულ ყველა ღონისძიებას. ამიტომაც ყველასგან მალევე მოიპოვეს აღიარება და წინ დიდი გეგმები დაისახეს როგორც ქვეყნის, ისე საერთაშორისო მასშტაბით. ყველა ადამიანი, სტუმარი თუ მასპინძელი, დიდ მადლიერებას გამოთქვამდა მათ წინაშე და სამახსოვრო ფოტოებს იღებდნენ მათთან.

საღამო ძალიან მხიარული და სამახსოვრო აღმოჩნდა ყველასთვის. იყო ძალიან ბევრი სადღეგრძელო, რომელშიც უდიდესი სიყვარული და სითბო იგრძნობოდა, ლამაზი სიტყვებით და წრფელი მონატრებით ამკობდნენ ერთმანეთს როგორც ქართველები, ისე ბრიტანელები. სტუმრები ტრადიციულად მოიხიბლნენ ქართული სამზარეულოთი და ღვინით.

საღამოს ბოლო ნაწილში სტუმრებმა ბევრი იცეკვეს კიდეც. ისინი ცდილობდნენ ქართულ ცეკვაშიც აგვყოლოდნენ და დიდი ენთუზიაზმით აკვირდებოდნენ ჩვენს ტრადიციულ მოძრაობებს, რათა დიდი პატივისცემა და სიყვარული გამოეხატათ ჩვენს მიმართ და მიებაძათ ჩვენთვის. შემდეგ სამახსოვრო ღიმილიანი ფოტოებიც გადავიღეთ. სტუმრები დიდად ნასიამოვნები დარჩნენ და საღამოზე არაერთხელ აღნიშნეს, რომ ქუთაისი მათი მეორე მშობლიური ქალაქია, საქართველო კი მეორე სამშობლო.

At the end of the visit the Kutaisi Newport International Association arranged a farewell party for the honorary guests from Newport. The atmosphere of the evening was filled with the feelings of love and friendship which were expressed in everybody’s eyes.

The event was hosted by the Association members, and the local government and university representatives - The Governor of the Imereti region, Zaza Meparishvili, The Mayor of Kutaisi Shota Murgulia, the Rector of the university, George Gavtadze and Deputy Rector Shalva Kirtadze who was dressed in the fine traditional Georgian outfit and was a wonderful toastmaster of this Georgian supra.

The songs by representatives of the Kutaisi Folk choir “Kutaisi” headed by the art director Irina Lominadze accompanied the evening and made it still more festive and beautiful. The singers performed their songs so enthusiastically and emotionally that the audience greatly impressed with their polyphony and talent kept bursting into applauses. This choir had also wonderfully introduced our city to the participants of the event dedicated to Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday Jubilee at the British Embassy. Their impressive voices had accompanied the whole celebration ceremony and all those present had thanked the singers and taken photos with them.

The Farewell party was very cheerful and memorable for everyone. There were many Georgian toasts full of love and warmth and a lot of words of friendship were exchanged by Georgian and Welsh friends. As usual our guests also relished Georgian food and wine.

At the end of the party we all danced together a lot. Observing the movements of Georgian traditional dances the guests wonderfully danced with us imitating our gestures, and, in this way expressing their respect and love to Georgia. We also took a lot of memorable photos with our happily smiling friends.

All enjoyed this Farewell Party greatly and didn’t want it to end. Saying goodbye to us our dear friends kept repeating that Kutaisi was their second home town.
