ნგლისური ფილოლოგიის დეპარტამენტის პირველკურსელებს წილად ხვდათ ბედნიერება გაწევრიანებულიყო ინგლისური ენის კლუბში,
რომელიც ტრადიციულად უნივერსიტეტის სააქტო დარბაზში საზეიმო გარემოში გაიმართა.
First-year students of English Philology Department had the opportunity to join the English Speaking Club.
It took place in a festive atmosphere during the annual meeting held in the University Assembly Hall.
aხალგაზრდებს მიესალმა და უნივერსიტეტში ჩარიცხვა მიულოცა აწსუ-ს რექტორმა, პროფ. გიორგი ღავთაძემ, ინგლისური ფილოლოგიის დეპარტამენტის ხელმძღვანელმა, ასოც. პროფ. ნინო ნიჟარაძემ და აკადემიურმა პერსონალმა. სტუდენტებს გააცნეს ის ძირითადი ინიციატივები, რომელსაც დეპარტამენტი მათთვის გეგმავს, რათა ბევრად უფრო თავდაჯერებულად იგრძნონ თავი სკოლიდან უნივერსიტეტში შემოსვლისას. მაღალკურსელმა სტუდენტებმა თავის მხრივ ეს დღე მიულოცეს პირველკურსელებს და მისცენ გარკვეული რჩევები და საჭიროებისამებრ გარკვეული დახმარება აღუთქვეს. ოთხმა პირველკურსელმა თავიანთ თანატოლებს თავი წარუდგინეს. მათ გადმოსცეს პირველი შთაბეჭდილებები აკაკი წერეთლის უნივერსიტეტში სწავლასთან დაკავშირებით.
The students were greeted and congratulated on being enrolled to the University and joining the ESC by Rector, Professor George Gavtadze and Head and teachers of the EPD, associate professor Nino Nijharadze. They were informed about the initiatives taken by the Department to make new student feel more confident during their transition from school to University. Senior students in their turn congratulated the freshers and offered appropriate advice and support. Four representatives of first-years introduced their fellow-students and then shared their first impressions on studying at ATSU. It was followed by a concert which students had prepared for this occasion.

ემდეგ გაიმართა პირველკურსელების მიერ ამ შემთხვევისთვის სპეციალურად მომზადებული კონცერტი.
შესრულდა როგორც ქართული,
ისე ინგლისური სიმღერები.
გოგონების ჯგუფმა შეასრულა რამდენიმე ქართული სიმღერა ტრადიციული ქართული საკრავის,
ფანდურის აკომპანიმენტით.
They sang English and Georgian songs and recited poetry.
A group of girls who minor in English performed some songs to the accompaniment of the Georgian folk musical instrument – Panduri.

ნგლისური ფილოლოგიის დეპარტამენტის ტრადიციის მიხედვით პირველკურსელებმა კლუბში გასაწევრიანებლად დადეს ფიცი,
რომ ისინი იქნებიან კლუბის აქტიური წევრები და პირნათლად გააგრძელებენ კლუბის ტრადიციებს.
ეს საკმაოდ ემოციური მომენტი იყო.
In accordance with the old-standing tradition of the ESC students swore solemnely to be active members of the club and observe its traditions which was a very moving moment.

ეხვედრის ბოლოს პირველკურსელებს გადაეცათ სტუდენტური ბილეთები.
ბოლოს კი მათ სტუდენტური ჰიმნი Gaudiamus შეასრულეს,
რისთვისაც აპლოდისმენტები დაიმსახურეს.
At the end of the meeting first-years were handed over students membership cards.
In conclusion they sang Gaudiamus and got enthusiastic applause for it.

AThe annual meeting of 2015 was interesting and also beneficial as the first-years could receive a lot of additional information about the University,
and were also inspired to have a go at something new.

Thanksgiving Party at the English Language Center

ნგლისური ენის ცენტრს ყოველთვის განებივრებული ვყავართ სხვადასხვა დღესასწაულებით,
რაც შემდეგ ტრადიციად იქცევა ხოლმე.
შესაბამისად,
მათ არც მადლიერების დღე გამორჩენიათ.
26 ნოემბერს მთელი ცენტრი აღნიშნავდა ამ კეთილ დღესასწაულს,
რაც ინგლისური ენის ცენტრის ყველაზე პატარა (elementary) მსმენელებისა და მათი პედაგოგის - მადო გიორგაძის დამსახურებაა.
The ELC has always pampered its listeners with different celebrations which later became a tradition.
The Thanksgiving Day was not an exception.
On November 26,
the whole centre celebrated this holiday,
which was held by the smallest (elementary) group of the ELC and their teacher Mado Giorgadze.

ავშვებმა მხოლოდ მორთული ოთახები კი არ დაახვედრეს დამსწრეებს,
არამედ მთლიანად ახალი ხასიათი შემოიტანეს ინგლისური ენის ცენტრში და მაყურებლის გულებში.
რა თქმა უნდა,
ეს დღე გააფორმეს თამაშებით,
სიმღერებით და,
რაც მთავარია,
არ დაავიწყდათ,
გაეხსენებინათ მადლიერების დღესთან დაკავშირებული პატარა,
ლამაზი ისტორიებიც.
ყვებოდნენ ხალისით,
თავისუფლად და საზეიმო განწყობით.
ასხივებდნენ ბედნიერებას და ეს ბედნიერებაც გადამდები იყო.
როგორც ინგლისური ენის ცენტრის თითქმის ყველა თაობის მსმენელი,
ისინიც მეტყველებდნენ სანიმუშო ინგლისურით და ეს არც არის გასაკვირი,
რადგან გამორჩეულად ბავშვების მოყვარული პედაგოგი მადო გიორგაძე,
მარტო მისი შემოქმედებითი ნიჭით კი არ არის გამორჩეული,
არამედ მაღალი პროფესიონალიზმით,
როგორც ცენტრის ყველა პედაგოგი.
The children not only decorated the room but brought a new feeling to the ELC and to the hearts of the audience.
The event was full of games and songs,
but the most important thing was that they didn’t forget to tell us interesting stories connected with the Thanksgiving Day.
They performed with enjoyment,
in a relaxed and entertaining way.
They were radiant and their radiance was contagious.
Their English was exemplary and this is not surprising because their teacher,
Mado Giorgadze,
is not only a loving and highly creative person but also a great professional,
like all other teachers of the ELC.

ადო მასწავლებლის სითბო ELC-ის სხვა თაობებსაც კარგად გვახსოვს.
მისი ღონისძიებები ყოველთვის განსაკუთრებული და ფერადი იყო და მე დღეს,
როგორც ELC-ის აღზრდილი,
ისე ვაფასებდი პატარების ,,მადლიერების დღეს“,
- სწორედ,
რომ განსაკუთრებული მადლიერებით.
Mado’s warmth is remembered by other generations of the ELC.
Her celebrations were always special and colourful,
and as an ELC former listener,
I value the Thanksgiving Day Event – with special thanks.
aმ დღეს, ინგლისური ენის ცენტრს, მისი საუკეთესო პედაგოგების გარდა, მოწვეული ყავდა ამერიკელი სტუმარი ქერენ ნეილი, მშვიდობის კორპუსის წარმომადგენელი, რომელიც უკვე 7თვეა ქუთაისში იმყოფება. მან აღფრთოვანება ვერ დამალა, რომ ცენტრის ბავშვებმა ბოლომდე გაიაზრეს ამ დღესასწაულის მთელი არსი და აჯობეს კიდეც ამერიკელებს აღნიშვნის ხალისით.
On this day, the ELC was attended not only by its best teachers, but also an American guest, Caren Neal, a Peace Corp representative who has been in Kutaisi for 7 months. She couldn’t hide her fascination that the children were fully aware of the whole essence of the holiday and even ‘beat’ American children in celebrating it.

ქალბატონმა ქერენმა და მადო მასწავლებელმა ბავშვებს სერთიფიკატები და საჩუქრები გადასცეს.
At the end of the event,
Caren and Mado awarded the children with certificates and gave them small gifts.

ველაზე მთავარი კი ის არის,
რომ ,,მადლიერების დღსასწაულმა“ ბავშვებიც და მაყურებლებიც ერთნაირად კმაყოფილნი დატოვა.
ეს იყო არა მხოლოდ შემოქმედების ზეიმი,
არამედ ცენტრში მიღებული ცოდნის ტესტიც.
But mostly is that The Thanksgiving Day Event left both the children and the audience satisfied and happy.
It was not only the triumph of creativity but the testing of the knowledge acquired at the ELC.

ვენს ცენტრში ბავშვები არა მარტო ინგლისურ ენას სწავლობენ,
არამედ ეცნობიან ამ ქვეყნების კულტურას,
რაც მათ მომავალში არაჩვეულებრივ გარემოს შეუქმნის,
–,,კულტურული შოკის" გარეშე მიიღონ განათლება დიდ ბრიტანეთსა და ამერიკაში.
მინდა შევაქო ღონისძიების ორგანიზატორი და ჩვენი პატარა შემსრულებლები ასეთ მოკლე დროში ასე კარგად ინგლისური ენის დაუფლებისთვის.
თქვენ კიდევ ერთხელ დაადასტურეთ,
რომ ELC საუკეთესოებს აერთიანებს.
რაც შეეხება ზეიმს,
ეს დღე,
თქვენი მომავალი წარმატებისკენ პირველი და მყარი ნაბიჯია“ - ასე შეაფასა 26 ნოემბრის თეატრალიზებული ღონისძიება ინგლისური ენის ცენტრის დამფუძნებელმა,
ქუთაისი ნიუპორტის საერთაშორისო ასოციაციის თავმჯდომარემ,
პროფესორმა მადონა მეგრელიშვილმა.
„Our Centre not only provides its listeners with the knowledge of the English Language,
but also helps them become aware of the culture of the English-speaking countries,
which will give them a wonderful opportunity to continue their education in Great Britain and the USA without getting a 'culture shock'.
I would like to praise the initiator and the performers of the event for learning such good English in such a short period of time.
Once again,
you proved that the ELC finds the best and unites them.
As for the celebration,
this day is the first and firm step forward to your successful future",
- this was the evaluation that was given to the event by the founder of the ELC,
the chairperson of Kutaisi Newport International Association,
Professor Madonna Megrelishvili.

გამხსენა დრო,
რომელიც ინგლისური ენის ცენტრში,
როგორც ერთ-ერთ მსმენელს,
ჩემს თანატოლებთან ერთად გამიტარებია.
გამახსენდა ყველა ის პრეზენტაცია,
დღესასწაული და თამაში,
რომელსაც ვგეგმავდით,
განვიცდიდით და ვაცოცხლებდით ამ ლამაზ კედლებში.
გამახსენდა ჩვენი მასწავლებლების გულშემატკივრობა და საპატიო სტუმრების თბილი დამოკიდებულება,
მადონა მასწავლებლის შეფასებები და გამხნევება.

As for me,
this day reminded me of the time when I was a listener at the ELC and spent my time here with my friends.
I remembered all the presentations,
celebrations and games that we planned and carried out within these walls.
I remembered our teachers’ support and our honorable guests’ warm attitude,
Madonna’s praise and encouragement.
This is probably what makes the English Language Centre so special – support and gratitude!
The rest is created by professionalism!

იდევ ბევრ დღესასწაულს და წარმატებას ვუსურვებ ,,მადლიერების დღის“ პატარა შემოქმედებს ინგლისური ენის ცენტრის კედლებში.
მათ უკვე შექმნეს საკუთარი ბიოგრაფია ELC-ში და მთელი ცხოვრება შეუძლიათ იამაყონ ამით.
Iwish a lot more celebrations and success to all the participants of the Thanksgiving Day Event within the English Language Centre.
